You may be aware that there is currently a measles outbreak in Surrey and Sussex. Measles is an illness that can lead to more serious complications such as pneumonia and encephalitis.
Our additional measles clinics have now finished, but you can book a measles vaccination appointment by contacting reception.
There is a lot of chicken pox in the area at the moment. If your child has chicken pox you do not normally need to see a doctor - the disease will run its course.
Click here for help to check if it is chicken pox and for information on when a GP appointment is appropriate.
In addition to GP consultations the practice offers the following clinics and services:
Asthma and COPD checks are carried out by the practice nurses.
We recommend at least an annual review for all patients with diabetes, usually with the practice nurse.
Annual recall for all patients with heart disease . These patients can be seen by the practice nurse.
We offer, together with our attached team of community midwives, a full antenatal and postnatal care service. We have two clinics with the midwife on Monday and Tuesday afternoons by appointment.
We offer family planning services. For most contraceptive needs or general advice, please see your own doctor during surgery hours. In addition, Dr Stradling is available for coil fitting, checking and removal and also fitting/removal of contraceptive implants. Dr Milligan and Dr Fisher are also available for fitting/removal of contraceptive implants.
A phlebotomist from Frimley Park Hospital is available on Wednesday and Friday mornings, with pre-bookable appointment between 08:45 and 11:35. The health centre also has a Warfarin clinic available on a Monday morning with pre-bookable appointments between 08:45 and 11:45.
All children start their immunisation programme at two months of age. Our clinic is run on a Monday afternoon by appointment. Advice on all immunisations can be obtained from the practice nurse or the health visitors or by clicking here.
These may be carried out by the practice nurse or by a doctor.
Child Developments Checks
All doctors are involved in child development and work alongside our health visitors to provide this service.
The surgery's practice nurses are able to give travel immunisations together with travel advice and precautions to be taken when abroad. Please make an appointment at least six weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate cover.
Please note that, as at 26th February 2016, the next available travel vaccination appointment is on Wednesday 27th April 2016.
An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetics and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff in September for details of vaccination dates.
Vaccinations for pneumococcus (pneumonia) are available to all patients over the age of 65. They are also available to those patients that come into certain high risk groups.
Minor surgery procedures are carried out at the practice. Please make an appointment with your doctor to discuss this further.
We are normally happy to provide travel advice and vaccinations. Occasionally this additional service may be curtailed due to sickness or staff shortages when we have to concentrate our efforts on NHS services which are not available to our patients elsewhere. Should we be in this situation please contact another provider if you require travel vaccinations.
Please also note that due to frequent failures to attend these appointments a deposit of £40 is taken when the appointment is booked and this is refunded or discounted against the cost of treatment after the appointment unless you fail to attend or cancel within 24 hours of the appointment, in which case the surgery will retain this deposit.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
A useful website, which you may wish to consult is NaTHNaC (National Travel Health Network and Centre) which has a comprehensive range of health and safety information regarding foreign travel.
There is further specific information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
To help us offer the appropriate advice, please fill out the online form before coming to see the nurse. (you can also print it out and leave it at reception, if you prefer).
Camberley Health Centre is no longer an authorised Yellow Fever vaccination Centre.
Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include the following:
The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to confirm them for you, along with appointment availability.
